International Recognitions & News

Dr. R. K. Kotnala is an eminent scientist, well renowned in the scientific community for his extraordinary contributions. He has done his Ph.D. in Silicon Solar Cell in 1982 from Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi. He has been a scientist in National physical Laboratory, New Delhi, since 1982. Dr. Kotnala has a diverse and vast research experience and many international recognitions. He has published more than 500 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals along with many books, handbooks and chapters.

Some of the special international recognitions of Dr. Kotnala are:

  • Chaired the Program Committee on Global Conference on Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE 2013), Hubei University of Science and Technology, China.
  • Office of Naval Research (ONR), Washington, USA had entrusted Dr. Kotnala’s work in multiferroics and awarded USD 0.105 million as a contract project in 2010 for development of electromagnetic sensor with Italy group.
  • Technical member in Asia Pacific Metrology Programme Meeting Nov. 2012 in New Zealand.
  • Technical Programme Member & Session Chairman in International Conference CPEM 2010, S. Korea.

  • PTB Lab. Germany: Joint programme on international standards during 1996 & 1998 one month each time.
  • Visiting Scientist, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, 1989-90.

Dr. Kotnala has grasped the national and international media attention for his stunning and outstanding invention of a green and clean energy device- Hydroelectric cell. The device is a revolutionary invention in the field of green energy generation. It generates electricity using a few drops of water, at room temperature without using any acid/alkali/light energy. This is a major step towards the zero carbon emission which is the urgent need of the hour.

Breathtaking Invention of Hydroelectric cell has been covered by media, several times in different newspapers & TV channels. Inspired by Dr. Kotnala’s unbelievable invention, accredited news channels like NDTV, DD National, Rajya Sabha TV covered the Hydroelectric Cell Invention to make common people aware about this unique and incredible energy device. The news about the spectacular green energy device Hydroelectric cell even reached the international media and astonished the scientists. The Hydroelectric Cell has made headlines in more than 51 Indian and 8 international newspapers. The Hindu, Indian Express, The Telegraph, Deccan Chronicle, Economic Times, Rajasthan Patrika, Jagran Josh, DNA, Mail Today are some of them. Top international Energy magazines– Energy News, Science World Report, Science examiner, ET-World Energy etc. have covered the Hydroelectric Cell invention in detail.
